Monogram: DTM

For this project we made a simple three letter monogram for the inside lining of a coat - an embroidered name tag.

We chose one of the letters from the Arts and Crafts 10 XL Monogram Set, then deleted the letter, leaving only the box frame. We added letters for the first name initial (D) the middle name initial (T), with the last name initial (M) between them. To give the whole monogram something a little less severe we used the left and right scrolls from the same style.

The overall size is 2 1/2" (64mm) tall by 3 7/8" (97mm) wide.

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
