Monogram: DNK

This three-letter monogram uses first initial D and middle initial N from Brushwork Monogram Set 6 - combined with last initial K from Brushwork Monogram Set 2. It has an Asian flare. We thought it also needed an additional embellishment, so we chose the design "Year 1943" from Monogram Flourishes 3. The original includes some stylized flower petals, but we wanted something simpler so they were deleted in our embroidery software program, leaving only the circular grid surrounded by a satin stitch circle border.

The overall size is 3 1/2"" (89mm) tall by 5 7/8" (148mm) wide.

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
