Monogram: I

Maybe it was the influence of Picasso - or maybe the Cartoon Network. The cross in the letter F from the Art Deco Monogram Set 12 just looks like an eye. So we started with two copies of that letter, and rotated and mirrored them so that the curls were facing down, and the long legs of the letter, now horizontal, look more like eyebrows - and the curls now look like horns. A bull? Just needs a nose, which we got from the letter I from the Circle 2 Monogram Set - slightly enlarged. We inserted some color changes in our embroidery software program so that the various parts can be different colors.

This is abstract enough that it could just be a design, not a monogram, for use on towels for a children's bathroom. If the child's name happens to be Isaac, or Ian, or Ivan, or Ileana, or Imogene, or Ingrid - so much the better.

The overall size is 5 1/4"(133mm) tall by 8 7/8"(225mm) wide.

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
