Monogram: M

Our Split Monogram Set 1 has each letter divided into two parts - top and bottom. This allows the spacing between the parts to be determined by the user. Text can be inserted in this space - a name or a place - but for this single initial monogram M we wanted to show another way to use this style. We made the space between the top and bottom portions relatively small, then embellished the initial by adding mirrored copies of one of the designs from our Monogram Flourishes 3 (Year 1942) on the left and right ends of the lines. We chose a soft color scheme that blends everything together.

This monogram would be very attractive on bed linens.

The overall size is 6 5/8" (169mm) tall by 7 1/2" (191mm) wide.

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
