Monogram: CRR

At it's most basic, the intention of our Combinations monthly feature is just to introduce the concept that a bit from one Monogram Set can be combined with a different bit from a different Monogram Set - whether or not the bits were originally part of the same style. The only thing controlling the procedure is your imagination.

For this large three-letter monogram, we began with the center letter R from Baroque 3 XL Monogram Set - a classic vertical satin stitch outline style, very balanced in design, with candlewick dots in close placement filling the open center of the letter.

The "dots" provide the inspiration for the flanking side letters. What about something circular? The letters C and R from Circle 1 XL Monogram Set were chosen, and reduced a bit in size so that they would generally line up with the "ears" on center letter.

The overall size is 7" (177mm) tall by 6 1/8"(154mm) wide.

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
