Monogram: PSB
This is a three letter monogram - first initial P, middle initial S, last initial B. The letters are arranged in the conventional fashion - last name initial in the center, first name initial on the left, middle name initial on the right. The center initial is larger, and the flanking letters are on a center line, rather than aligned along a baseline. All three initials come from Moderne Monogram Set 14.
The letters in this style have a nice graceful rounded quality, and these three together would be just fine as they are. But just to make this design a little more special we thought it would be nice to add a couple of simple compatible embellishments. Looking through our extensive range of styles there are plenty of options, but the embellishments in the letters from Arts and Crafts Monogram Set 6 stood out because the detail has stylized circles (stand-ins for flowers) and simple stems and leaves. We liked the shape of the embellishments in the letter T - although that detail from almost any letter in the style would work. We deleted the letter and the upper embellishment, then made a copy of the bit left, mirroring it left to right. These two are placed carefully between the letters, and the monogram is sewn out with simple colors.
The overall size is 3 1/2" (89mm) tall by 6 5/8" (169mm) wide.
How we made these monograms
Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
