Monogram: HUF

We wanted to create something that was a bit abstract - reminiscent of a monogram, but really just an interesting and dynamic abstract design for a large pillow cover.

Since our embroidery software program allows easy manipulation of design orientation, we picked a letter to start with - H from the Arabesque 5 XL Monogram Set, then merged two other letters - U and F. Although this might have represented three initials from someone's name, in this case we chose them purely for their fluid lines.

By rotating, mirroring, and moving individual letters around wearrived at a "stack", wider at the bottom, that we liked.

The overall size is 10 1/4 " (260 mm) tall by 12" (305 mm) wide.

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
