Monogram Styles Used:
- Arabesque XL Monogram Set 10
- Arabesque XL Monogram Set 14
- Flourishes Monogram Set 3
Monogram: S
We started constructing this monogram by manipulating letters from the Arabesque 10 XL Monogram Set in our software program. We took the letter I, turned it upside down, then made a copy - mirrored - and put the two together. The combination has an outdoor quality, suggesting a trellis.
Continuing on with this theme, we went looking for nice tall and vertical satin stitch letters, and chose the letter S from the Arabesque 14 XL Monogram Set. A bit of stretching and adjusting the two got them to fit together perfectly.
A floral embellishment on either side of the letter S? The design called Year 1956 from Monogram Flourishes Set 3 was a good fit in general, but it has an extended ribbon/garland on each side - so we deleted that to make the design more compact. A mirrored copy on either side completed the combination. Vertical at first, we tipped the flower bouquets a bit.
The overall size is 8"(203mm) tall by 7 1/4"(184mm) wide.
How we made these monograms
Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
