Monogram: ARM

This is one of a vast number of possibilities for a more formal three-letter monogram utilizing one of our Monogram Frames.

We started with the frame - Frame A from Monogram Frames Set 1. With that design already selected it was easier to look for three letters that would be visually compatible.

The last initial M was selected from Arts and Crafts Monogram Set 6 because it has thin columns, like the frame, but also has some interesting stylized flowers and an overall light touch. For the flanking letters A and R we were looking for something with a bit of contrast from the rest. Gothic Monogram Set 15 has little round "ears", but the letters also have small protruding "thorns" that compliment similar elements in the letter M.

We chose a soft color scheme.

The overall size is 5 3/8"(135mm) tall by 5 3/8"(135mm) wide.

How we made these monograms

Embroidery software programs make it easy to delete elements, copy and paste elements from other designs, resize different aspects, and merge elements together into one new design. Each program is a bit different in how the Edit functions are managed. Once you have learned to use yours, creating new monograms from other monogram parts is creative and fun. Experiment with different arrangements and colors.
