Synopsis: In Colonial Salem, two witches - a father (Daniel) and a daughter (Jennifer) - are burned at the stake after being denounced by Puritan Jonathan Wooley. Their ashes are buried under a tree to imprison their evils spirits. Jennifer curses Wooley and all his male descendants, dooming them always to marry the wrong woman. Centuries pass, until lightning hits the tree,freeing their spirits. They find Wallace Wooley (Frederic March) living nearby - about to be married - and running to Governor. Jennifer (Veronica Lake) and Daniel (Cecil Kellaway) initially appear as white plumes of smoke, but Jennifer convinces her father to give her a physical body so she can torment Wallace.

Scene:

Monogram: Jennifer works magic on Wallace to seduce him and get him to call off the wedding.
