Synopsis: Dominated by her mother (Miranda Richardson) and her mother's bullying consort Conroy (Mark Strong), young Victoria (Emily Blunt) begins to assert herself during the last days of the rule of William IV (Jim Broadbent), her uncle. When he dies, she becomes Queen at the age of 18. Her German cousin Albert (Rupert Friend), sent initially to court her for purely political reasons, finds in her a kindred spirit. When she nearly causes a constitutional crisis, it is Albert who resporses her self-confidence. Their marriage culminates a larger-than-life romance.

Monogram: An embroidered cypher for Victoria Regina (literally - "Victoria Queen") appears in several forms: on a pillowcase (Top), and on the back of a coronation chair (Bottom), with a crown added. Although Queen Victoria's actual Royal Cypher has intertwined letters, this version seems to have been invented for the movie.
