The Producers - 1967

Movie: The Producers - 1967

Director: Mel Brooks

Synopsis: Once a successful Broadway producer, Max Bialystock (Zero Mostel) now seduces a wide variety of elderly women to keep things afloat. Each comes to his office at a different time, and thinks she is the only one investing in one of his shows. Max's accounting firm has sent nervous young accountant Leo Bloom (Gene Wilder) to work on the books. Leo makes an innocent comment - that a producer could make more money with a flop that closes after one performance that he could with a hit. With a flop there are no investors to pay back. This comment results in a partnership with one goal - to produce the worst show in Broadway history.

Scene: Max - dressed up in his office finery, hosts one of his investors (Estelle Winwood), who he refers to as "Hold Me Touch Me". Leo barges in unexpectedly on their meeting.

Monogram: Max wears a silk scarf, and a velvet smoking jacket with a huge script B on the pocket.
