Synopsis: In 1946, the archaeologist explorer Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) and his wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) are retired from the exploring business, but are getting bored. When the British government invites them to take a relic - "The Eye of Shangri-La" - to China - they jump at the chance. The ancient stone is said to be capable of resurrecting the evil Emperor Han (Jet Li) and of pointing the way to Shangri-La and the eternal pool of life. When they reach China they find that their son Alex (Luke Ford) who they think is away at university, is there as well, working on an archeological dig. A corrupt Chinese General needs the steal the gem to resurrect Emperor Han and his army who have been dead for thousands of years.
Scene: Alex - working with old family friend Professor Roger Wilson (David Calder) - has discovered Han's tomb, having found the journal of Sir Colin Bembridge, who went off in search of the tomb 70 years earlier.
Monogram: Once inside the tomb, the explorers find a long-dead man, wearing explorer's clothing. Alex opens the jacket to find a fancy monogrammed shirt underneath - with the initial CB (Sir Colin Bembridge).
