Director: Alfred Hitchcock

Synopsis: Tennis star Guy Haines (Farley Granger) meets an strange man on a train from Washington to New York. Guy wants to move into politics after his tennis career, and has been dating Ann Morton (Ruth Roman), a Senator's daughter while waiting for his wife to agree to a divorce. His companion, Bruno Anthony (Robert Walker) haters his father a desperately wants his father killed. Bruno suggests that they "swap murders". Guy tries to humor Bruno until he can get away from him, but Bruno takes Guy's comments as agreement - and starts the swap by strangling Guy's wife Miriam.

Scene: Bruno follows Miriam and several young men on the Tunnel of Love at the local amusement park. He is carrying a cigarette lighter that he took from Guy. Later, when Guy refuses to carry out his part of Bruno's plan, Bruno tells guy that he will go back and plant the lighter on the island as evidence.

Monogram: The lighter becomes very much like a character in the story. It was given to Guy as a gift from Ann - with an applied set of crossed tennis rackets and engraving - from "A to G."
