Synopsis: Benjamin Stone (Michael J. Fox) is a young doctor driving to L.A to begin a new job as a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. After leaving the highway to avoid a traffic jam he gets lost and crashes into a fence in the small town of Grady. He is sentenced to 32 hours of community service at the local hospital. All he wants is to do his time and be on his way, but gradually the locals become attached to him, and in the local doctor's office he meets Vialula (Julie Warner) the woman of his dreams.
Scene: Having finally arrived in Hollywood he begins work with Doctor Halberstrom (George Hamilton) as his operating assistant.
