Synopsis: Greedy rancher Lawrence Murphy (Forrest Tucker) gradually moves to take over the town of Lincoln (new Mexico Territory), including the banks, local stores, land, and the local sherrif. Tough cattle baron John Chisum (John Wayne) stands in his way, with help from young William Bonney - Billy the Kid (Geoffrey Deuel), who has been given second chance by Chisum's philanthropic neighbour, Henry Tunstall (Patric Knowles).
Scene: Lawrence Murphy hatches a plot to portray Henry Tunstall as a cattle thief.
Monogram: The Murphy brand - M (top) is cleverly over-branded with the Tunstall brand - T (bottom). The sherrif, who is in on the plot, now has evidence of the crime.
