Synopsis: Burt Farlander (John Krasinski) and Verona De Tessant (Maya Rudolph) are a loving couple expecting their first child. They made the decision to move close to Burt's parents Jerry and Gloria Farlander (Catherine O'Hara and Jeff Daniels) so that they can share the experience with the baby's grandparents: Verona's parents died 10 years earlier. When they learn that the elder Farlanders are moving to Belgium just before the birth Burt and Verona embark on a whirlwind trip to find a new place to live - and people from their past to share the experience with.
Scene: Tuscon, AZ - Madison, WI - Montreal - all are places with potential connections. In Montreal, they visit with old college friends - Tom and Munch Garnett (Chris Messina and Melanie Lynskey)
Monogram: Over a late meal in a 24 hour diner - Remo's - Tom assembles a sculpture to make a point about relationships - constructed of pancakes, sugar cubes, and toothpicks - topped with a coaster with an heirloom initial R. A moment later he pours a large quantity of maple syrup over everything.
