Synopsis: The film adaptation of the 1946 stage musical - lyrics and music by Irving Berlin. This is the fictionalized life story of Annie Oakley (1860-1926), a sharpshooter from Ohio.
Scene: Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show visits Cincinnati. Frank Butler (Howard Keel), the show's womanizing star, challenges anyone in town to a shooting match. Annie (Betty Hutton) enters and wins - and falls hopelessly in love with Frank.
Monogram: Frank preparing for a trick shot - hitting a clay target over his shoulder - while looking in a mirror. The mirror, and his fancy western-style gloves, both show his initials - FB.
